We empower and celebrate queer folk (2SLGBTQIA+) by creating opportunities for visibility, nurturing friendships, and building a supportive community in Parry Sound. Our vision is to make Parry Sound a safe space where queer youth, adults, allies, and marginalized people from all walks of life can thrive together.

Position Overview:

Parry Sound Pride is looking for creative high school students to join our team as Volunteer Content Creators! If you’re passionate about queer advocacy, social justice, and love creating content, this is a perfect opportunity for you. As part of our team, you’ll help create engaging social media posts, videos, and promotional materials that highlight the vibrant queer community in Parry Sound.

What You’ll Do:

  • Create social media content (Instagram, Facebook, etc.) to raise visibility for queer individuals and promote local Pride events
  • Help produce videos, graphics, and written content to celebrate the Parry Sound queer community
  • Collaborate with the team to brainstorm fresh ideas for digital content
  • Share stories of local queer folks, allies, and community events
  • Capture exciting moments at Pride events (in-person or virtually)
What We’re Looking For:
  • Passion for queer advocacy and social justice
  • Interest in creating content (social media, videos, writing, graphic design,
  • photography, etc.)
  • Good communication skills and team spirit
  • Basic knowledge of social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook (Meta)
  • Willingness to learn new skills in digital media
  • Access to a smartphone or camera (helpful but not required)
